At the break of dawn, a line of staff emerges from their quarters, their robes fluttering gently in the crisp morning air, carrying all sorts of assorted bags and toolboxes. The fog blankets the farmhouse, diffusing the morning light into a soft glow. Groggy yet filled with a quiet excitement, the group makes its procession through the service alleys, into the main avenues, embarking on a new day.
The idea for this building comes from two residents who both work at home. One works in service of the other, while the other works in service of the ecosystem. The two form a symbiosis as they both immerse themselves in life and work together, mirroring natural systems like mutualism in biology. One resident is like the flower; the other like the bee.

The farm works at three scales. At the unit scale, Unit A is about the relationship between a servant and a serviced resident. Unit B is housing for service staff, and Unit C is for residents fully serviced by the staff from the previous unit. At the building scale, units are organized into three configurations, Big Farm, Middle Farm, and Little Farm. Big Farm has the most staff units, Middle Farm has equal units, while Little Farm is mixed between shared and serviced spaces. At the site scale, these three buildings form a farm with a centrally located community center called Big Barn.

Editorial shots of the units feature none other than notorious self-made billionaire and workaholic Kim Kardashian. Kim is the perfect embodiment this resident who completely blurs the line between work and life. She lives an almost ascetic life, existing in service to creation. The units are designed to facilitate this existence, giving residents the perfect space to “get your fucking ass up and work”.
