This project starts with a simple question: what can be made without producing more?
Each shirt was sourced secondhand from assorted brands with all kinds of prints and designs. The shirts were all turned inside-out and then printed on again, intending to be worn inside-out.
Wearing the shirt this way exposes another angle which is rarely seen. The construction is visible, embroidery is seen from the back side. The prints themselves are scans of distressed fabric and layered paint splatters cut off abruptly at their edges. This trompe-l’oeil approach highlights the tension between use and damage.

It’s no secret that we live in a time of excess clothing. By turning existing garments inside-out, the project explores how what already exists can carry new meaning.
